Papua New Guinea Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Geotechnical Superintendent, the position is responsible for supporting the Geotechnical Superintendent in managing all geotechnical aspects of the Wafi-Golpu site operations and data collection activities for Pre Feasibility Studies and Feasibility Studies.Key roles and responsibilities include: Management of site based geotechnical data collection programsGeotechnical core loggingHydrogelogical test programs (packer testing, pump testing, pezometer, etc)Rock strength testingEstablishment of procedures and systems to facilitate the timely and consistent collection of high quality geotechnical dataMentoring and training of geologists and geotechnicians in the art of geotechnical engineeringManagement of geotechnical databases and value adding of data with interpretationAssistance with preparation and management of budgets and project schedulesEstablishment of geotechnical management plans for Decline development surface road and drilling activatesProvision of senior geotechnical management while the Geotechnical Superintendent is off siteRequirements:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:Degree qualified in Mining, geotechnical or equivalent engineering streamFive years experience in a similar role in a mining environment with surface mine infrastructure backgroundProject Management Professional certificationWell developed facilitation skillsWell developed change management skillsWell developed written and oral communication skillsWell developed coaching and mentoring skills This role is FIFO to PNG on a 16/12 roster.
